Life is worship: A festschrift in honour of Douglas A. Thomson
edited by Michael A.G. Haykin and David G. Barker | foreword by Rick Reed
These essays honour the life and ministry of Dr. Doug Thomson who, as a teacher, pastor, colleague and music leader, has influenced countless lives and congregations in Ontario, Canada, and beyond. The themes of these chapters cover themes that are precious in the life of the church-revealing how all of life is worship.
Topics include expositions of psalms and hymns, the theology of worship, spirituals, hallmarks of a worship leader, friendship in the composition of hymns, lament, etc. even some sermons for Easter weekend. It is hoped that these essays, published as a tribute to a dear friend and colleague, will encourage discussion, promote the development of an understanding of the theology around worship, challenge readers to think deeply about this crucial area and, most of all, bring glory to our great God, who alone is worthy of all praise.
